Pet name - Rory

Race name - Kilgraney Rory

Colour  Black with white flecks

Sex - Male

Born -  10th April 2018

Arrival date - 20th March 2023

Rory has been returned to kennels after a year in a home due to the adopters ill health. Rory will need a calm adult household where his daily routine can be kept consistent everyday. He needs an active lifestyle were he will get out for walks daily as well as being given mental stimulation in the home. Mental stimulation can be things such as puzzle games, lick mats, snuffle mats, find it games etc. Rory is only partially house-trained, he is 90% there but still has the occasional accident and he will still need some on-going socialisation with other breeds of dog. He has been recently been going out for walks with a regular dog walker who says that he is progressing well when seeing different breeds away from the home. There is a lot of wildlife where Rory previously lived so he can be reactive to squirrels, foxes and also to cats but otherwise walks very well on the lead.

He has had some issues with guarding food and toys. However, with time, patience and training these will all lessen. Please ask for more details around the guarding as there are reasons behind it which should be easily overcome with a regular routine.

Rory will need to be an only pet. He is a very intelligent boy who would respond well to training. He is very affectionate and loving with the staff and has settled back into the kennel routine very well.

Update 20/07/2021

Here is what Cheryl says about Rory:

" Rory has a brain and he knows how to use it! He is still a baby and needs to be settled into a routine. He would be better homed as an only pet as he does love to have all the attention. He will need socialisation with other breeds and would really benefit from attending training classes to teach him to live in the big wide world. When out and about he is OK with other larger breeds but at present no small fluffies. He is a very handsome young lad.

Rory likes to be by himself and will be great as an only pet. A very handsome young lad he is sure to get a lot of admirers. Rory can live with older, quieter children who are dog savvy.
