Jake is a super dog who has now been with us a year. It's been a busy year for him. He retired due to a broken wrist and that has taken some time to heal as Jake is quite a bouncy dog. He's now got the all clear but due to the location of the injury he's a dog that you won't be able to let off lead. We've learnt that Jake is not a fan of small humans so he will need to be homed in an adult household with no visiting children. With the very cold months that we have had we have learnt that Jake does not like the cold. He has the staff well trained and as the afternoon gets colder, he needs to be encouraged up with a treat. He's certainly not a daft dog!

Jake loves a rope toy to toss around and deconstruct and will be a very playful dog. However, you will need to limit that playfulness to make sure that he doesn’t over do things. He is very good at knowing when he’s had enough and needs a rest.

Lately Jake has been a little stubborn about walks but if taken out with another greyhound he is happy to go. Jake would probably enjoy being at home with a calm greyhound girl for company.

Jake cannot live with small animals.

He has had interest this last year but so far no one ready to commit. Fingers crossed that this year will be Jakes year.

Jake has gone from an unruly pest to well … a bit more polite and relaxed pest :) He has calmed down a lot whilst in his kennel and is happier to lounge on the bed rather than wanting to be in the thick of things.

Food time is still a favourite time of the day as it means he gets to run around the paddock like a looney before stuffing his face. Although he is actually a polite eater and takes his time with his food in between having a wander between mouthfuls.

Jake is very affectionate and loves standing to have a cuddle before diving onto his bed to have a dig around and make his bed to his preference before settling down for a nap.

One of the most affectionate boys you will come across, if he's not leaning against you then he is giving you a hug. A really handsome boy who simply adores everyone he meets. He can live with a Greyhound girl or by himself. He can not live with children. A nice lad who would suit most homes
